Atlas Copco recently inaugurated its distribution and training center at Bijaynagar in Rajasthan. This is a dedicated facility for Hindustan Zinc Limited.
This facility was inaugurated jointly by Markku Terasvasara, President, Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Service division, David Shellhammer, President, Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation division, and Laxman Singh Shekhawat, VP and Unit Head, Hindustan Zinc Limited.
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) is a customer of Atlas Copco and has ordered a large fleet of machines for their existing and new underground mines. When HZL decided to expand their operations and induct new mining equipment, Atlas Copco agreed to provide 24 x 7 support for these machines. This implies that Atlas Copco would maintain the machines which HZL operates. This support would cover twenty five thousand hours of operations or five years. To deliver on our promises, we felt a strong need to have a setup closer to the customer.
This facility has a well-stocked distribution center for parts and consumables manned professionally round the clock.
Atlas Copco has also invested in state of the art simulators for training operators of drilling and loading equipment. This training center also has a well equipped conference room for business meetings and discussions.
“In the establishment of the distribution and training center, Atlas Copco has taken a step ahead in their endeavors to be partners in progress with Hindustan Zinc Limited. With strong values like innovation, interaction and commitment, Atlas Copco constantly strives to build long term relationships,” says Markku Terasvasara.
